Tales From the Cask Craft Beer Podcast

What a great time we had this week with the renowned beer maveness Jenn Litz from Craft Business Daily! She Skypes in from her palatial digs in NYC and dishes on the latest happenings in the craft beer world. Plus, she tries awesome beers from San Diego’s Ballast Point and Michigan's Saugatuck Brewing with us! This week we get to sample Sculpin IPA, Longfin Lager, and Victory at Sea Imperial Porter from Ballast Point and Jenn tries Serrano Pepper Ale from Saugatuck!

A plethora of news awaits this week, fitting since we have a newsperson guest! We start with The New York Times and an editorial regarding monopolizing beermove to Paste Magazine and a revealing look at the expanding demographics of craft beer, and check out The Guardian’s report on plans in Vietnam to keep temperature in beer parlours below 30C.  Next we go down to New Orleans and The Times-Picayune on the restaurant Borgne's canned beer program, then up to The Star-Ledger talking about Ommegang Valar Morghulis Abbey Dubbel, over to Vice who shows us that it takes submarines, hashish, and volcanic rocks to make a good beer, and we wind up on The Today Show to see that beer is ready to spread on your morning toast!

There was quite a bit of great feedback this week! We also share the responses to last week’s #caskquiz “when you see a beer you want to try, which package are you more likely to buy - a 12 or 22 ounce?” and this week we want to know “what is your favorite California beer?”
